Civil Field Worker

About the role

The Transport Assets & Operations branch is seeking a hands‑on Civil Field Worker to support the day‑to‑day maintenance and construction of road and related infrastructure across the Sunshine Coast region. You will work on a variety of civil projects, assisting with construction labour, truck operations, and on‑site supervision while upholding the highest safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with general construction and maintenance labour tasks, including operating trucks and related equipment.
• Follow Workplace Health and Safety Act and Environmental Protection Act requirements on all worksites.
• Identify, report, and help eliminate hazardous conditions or unsafe practices.
• Maintain and operate Council‑provided machinery and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Use, maintain, and replace personal protective equipment as needed.
• Support the Field Leader in supervising tasks and providing on‑the‑job coaching.

Required profile

• Willingness to work outdoors and get hands‑dirty on varied civil projects.
• Strong team orientation and ability to follow clear instructions.
