Civil Engineer – Urban Development

About the role

Egis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Urban Development team, focusing on the design and documentation of land development and civil infrastructure projects across greenfield and brownfield sites.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver and manage civil and infrastructure designs for large‑scale land development projects.
• Design major and minor drainage systems, applying hydrological principles and water‑management treatments.
• Prepare water and sewer designs in line with MRWA standards and produce related servicing and development reports.
• Collaborate closely with internal team members and sub‑consultants, and foster client relationships to generate new business.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering experience in a consultancy environment, preferably on ACT land‑development projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and a valid full driver’s licence.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, staying within budget and schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organisational and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 12D design software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of civil design principles for storm water, sewer, hydraulics, flood modelling and road infrastructure.
