Civil Designer – Civil 3D & 12D

About the role

Robert Bird Group (RBG) is seeking an experienced Civil Designer proficient in Civil 3D and 12D to join its multidisciplinary team. The position is permanent and based in one of RBG's Australian offices – Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne – delivering high‑quality civil infrastructure designs for major land‑development and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed geometric designs, models and construction drawings using Civil 3D and 12D.
• Produce design documentation for roadways, earthworks, stormwater, water quality and site grading.
• Coordinate utility networks and drainage systems across complex project sites.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to project team meetings.
• Ensure design outputs meet client expectations, budget and schedule constraints.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil design for land development or infrastructure projects.
• Diploma or certificate in Civil Design, Computer‑Aided Drafting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Austroads standards and geometric roadway design.
• Proven ability to work independently on varied design tasks.
