CHPP Technician – Underground Mine Operations

About the role

We are seeking CHPP Technicians to support the Maxwell Underground Mine’s coal handling and processing plant. Reporting to the CHPP Supervisor, you will help ensure safe, efficient and reliable plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and uphold health, safety and environmental standards across the CHPP area.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections in line with the Mine Inspection Plan.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical technicians to carry out plant operations and maintenance tasks promptly and cost‑effectively.
• Assist in developing and improving working systems and procedures for CHPP operations.
• Support a positive workplace culture and team cohesion.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
• Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and related regulations.
• Prior experience in safe CHPP or similar fixed‑plant operations and maintenance (desirable).
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and time‑management abilities.
• High level of computer literacy; familiarity with Pulse Maintenance System or similar is advantageous.

Required skills

• Electrical or Mechanical trade expertise.
• Understanding of WHS legislation for mines and petroleum sites.
• Experience with CHPP operations and maintenance procedures.
• Computer literacy, including use of maintenance management software such as Pulse.
