Chiller Service Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Chiller Service Technician to join its expanding Service Team in Melbourne. The role offers autonomy, exposure to leading‑edge equipment and the chance to develop technical and leadership capabilities across a diverse customer portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and respond to breakdowns across a broad range of chiller and HVAC systems.
• Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance activities and commission equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, fault‑find, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on reciprocating, screw and centrifugal chillers.
• Complete accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Develop trusted relationships with customers and provide expert technical advice.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years’ experience servicing chillers, HVAC systems or industrial cooling equipment.
• Mechanical and/or electrical trade qualifications.
• Strong fault‑finding, maintenance and repair experience.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to pass pre‑employment medical and background checks.

Required skills

• Experience with centrifugal, screw and reciprocating chillers.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Preventative maintenance and commissioning of HVAC equipment.
