Child and Family Health Nurse

About the role

This temporary part‑time role supports children aged 0–5 and their families in the Tooleybuc/Moulamein communities. The Nurse will use a strengths‑based, wellness‑focused approach to build parental confidence, provide health information, and model safe care practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct evidence‑based screenings and comprehensive assessments to identify health variations or vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with families.
• Provide health education, resources, and guidance to promote positive health outcomes.
• Work within a multidisciplinary rural health team to deliver safe, responsive nursing care.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including outcome evaluation.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) meeting all RN standards.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Child and Family Health (or commitment to obtain within 12 months).
• Authorised Nurse Immuniser status and Family Partnership Training (or willingness to achieve).
• Strong assessment, care‑planning, and outcome‑evaluation skills.
• Excellent therapeutic communication and ability to work collaboratively in a rural setting.
• Critical thinking, leadership, and a proactive change‑agent mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice.
• Class C driver licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
