Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

The Chief Technology Officer leads technical direction and engineering execution across Sitemate, reporting to the CEO and sitting on the executive team. This hands‑on, builder‑first role shapes the delivery system that turns engineering output into trusted customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the engineering delivery system, including Global Platform, EPD Ops, release engineering, QA infrastructure, security posture and tooling.
• Design and evolve the engineering organisation, career tracks, compensation architecture and hiring standards.
• Set the engineering operating cadence, quarterly initiative planning and performance scorecards.
• Partner with the Chief Product Officer to align product roadmaps with delivery capabilities.
• Coach Staff Engineers and Tech Leads, delegating technical reviews as they grow.
• Represent engineering to the CEO, executive team, board and customers.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience leading large engineering teams (≈40 engineers) in a fast‑moving SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to ship code alongside teams while setting technical standards.
• Strong collaboration skills with product, GTM, operations and marketing leaders.
• Track record of improving delivery throughput, quality and reliability.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of release engineering, CI/CD pipelines and trunk‑based development.
• Experience with strict typing, schema contracts and automated QA integration.
• Understanding of security testing and compliance best practices.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools and their impact on engineering workflows.
