Chef de Partie - The Gallery Cafe

About the role

The Fresh Collective is looking for a passionate Chef de Partie to join The Gallery Cafe culinary team at the Art Gallery of NSW on a full-time permanent basis. You will report to the Sous Chef and Head Chef and join a hospitality group known for venues such as the Australian Museum, Melbourne Museum, Queensland Museum, Sydney Theatre Company and the Art Gallery of NSW. The position is about 38 hours per week on a Monday to Sunday roster, mostly daytime shifts except Thursday.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure efficient food production and quality control.
• Prepare and present high-quality cafe food in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain the highest standards of food presentation, quality and cleanliness.
• Contribute to menu changes inspired by gallery exhibitions.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant or events environment.
• Valid working rights in Australia.

Required skills

• Strong grilling and service skills are highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills.
