Charge Up Operator - FIFO from Perth

About the role

Gold Fields is hiring a Charge Up Operator for its underground mine at Granny Smith, on a FIFO roster from Perth (8/6 days, 7/7 nights rotating). You will charge development and production blasts, handle and transport explosives, maintain underground firing lines and carry out shot-firing duties to strict compliance and safety standards. The role reports to the Supervisor Underground Production.

Key responsibilities

• Charge development and production rounds
• Safely handle and transport explosives in line with regulations
• Tie up and prepare blasts safely and accurately
• Carry out pre- and post-blast inspections
• Maintain equipment and report any issues
• Work collaboratively with the underground crew while keeping strong safety and housekeeping standards

Required profile

• Substantial underground mining experience; Charge Up or Service crew exposure and use of emulsion and ANFO in blasting are highly regarded
• WA Shotfirer's licence
• Valid manual C Class driver's licence
• WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights card
• Able to work in a physically demanding underground environment and in a team
