Chapter Lead - Business Intelligence

About the role

As a Chapter Lead for Business Intelligence at ANZ, you will act as the subject‑matter expert for BI and analytics across the New Zealand business units. You will guide a chapter of up to ten members, shape standards, and spend 20‑30% of your time contributing directly to squad projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain frameworks, templates, and standards for BI work (requirements, wireframes, testing, peer reviews).
• Collaborate with Principal Engineer and other Chapter Leads to create best‑practice guidelines.
• Provide thought leadership, coaching, and quality assurance for squad deliverables.
• Act as escalation point for complex data questions and ensure high‑quality analytics.
• Foster a strong community culture that encourages learning and continuous improvement.
• Identify innovative delivery methods, including automation and AI tools.
• Manage chapter members, offering feedback, support, and performance oversight.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in Business Intelligence and Analytics, with a proven track record of delivering data‑driven insights.
• Experience leading and developing technical teams, ideally up to ten members.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on analytical work (20‑30% squad involvement).
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and mentor colleagues.
