Chapter Lead - AI, Home Buying

About the role

CommBank is looking for a Chapter Lead, AI, Home Buying to lead a team in the Pricing Modelling squad. The role supports the Home Buying business modelling needs through the development and maintenance of predictive models that underpin the end-to-end performance of retail home loan products. You will lead and mentor data science and statistical modelling professionals and work closely with stakeholders such as the Pricing and Credit Risk Portfolio teams, Finance and Group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and guide junior data scientists to deliver projects and outcomes, while also making hands-on contributions to drive innovation.
• Develop and manage key modelling assets, fostering a team approach that uses state-of-the-art data science and statistical techniques.
• Drive higher quality and more efficient use of data through continuous process improvements.
• Present modelling solutions to senior business and non-technical stakeholders.
• Use data science and machine learning techniques in Python or R to build models that solve key business problems.
• Collaborate with Pricing Strategy and Credit Risk Strategy to deliver implementable modelling and AI solutions that improve customer experience, growth and productivity.
• Work with the wider Data Science community to build a centre of excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Science leader with strong statistical and machine learning knowledge, able to work in both theoretical and practical analysis.
• Experience in pricing modelling and/or credit risk modelling.
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science or Engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python and R for model development.
• Spark and Teradata SQL.
• Cloud-based data science tools such as AWS SageMaker and AWS Bedrock.
