Catering Service Manager

About the role

The Simon Hotel Sydney is seeking an energetic Catering Service Manager to lead our food and beverage operations. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality catering experiences for hotel guests and external clients while ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Train and supervise catering staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Determine service offerings and develop operational procedures to meet client expectations.
• Cost products and services, manage inventory, and control waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food‑handling regulations.
• Negotiate contracts with clients for catering events and facility use.
• Address customer complaints, provide exceptional service, and manage event logistics.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in catering, hospitality or related field.
• Relevant trade certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and multitask.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
