Category Manager – Procurement

About the role

Ausco Modular is seeking a dynamic Category Manager to lead the development and implementation of category strategies for the procurement of steel, wood products, transport services, and construction sub‑contractor services across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and align on category strategies and sourcing activities.
• Conduct market analysis, end‑to‑end sourcing and supplier negotiations to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Negotiate, implement and manage contracts with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage supplier relationships and service delivery while driving cost‑saving initiatives.
• Support global improvement projects and promote Health, Safety, Environmental and ESG initiatives within the category.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in Category Management, Procurement, Supply Chain or related field.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Excellent negotiation abilities and experience managing complex change projects.
• Degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain or related field preferred; CIPS Level 4 Diploma advantageous.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
