Casual Wardsperson

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health is recruiting a casual Wardsperson to support the daily operations of hospital wards. The Wardsperson provides essential non-clinical assistance to healthcare professionals and helps keep the ward environment safe, clean and organised. The position involves patient transportation, equipment management, mortuary duties and general support duties. Casual positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to different departments within the hospital
• Assist patients with mobility and positioning as needed
• Work closely with nursing staff, doctors and other healthcare professionals to support patient care
• Respond promptly to requests and instructions from nursing staff and management
• Assist with the transfer of deceased patients from wards
• Liaise with funeral homes and other external agencies
