Casual Veterinary Nurse

About the role

Greencross Vets Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast is looking for an experienced and passionate Veterinary Nurse to join its team on a casual basis. The role supports the veterinarians, cares for patients and helps keep the clinic running smoothly, covering medical, surgical and hospital cases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, procedures and treatments
• Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
• Monitor anaesthesia and patient recovery
• Administer medications and treatments
• Collect and process pathology samples
• Nursing care for hospitalised patients
• Assist with dental procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control
• Support client education and communication
• Help with general clinic operations and workflow

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Previous clinical veterinary nursing experience, ideally 2+ years
• Confident with surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
• Good patient care and animal handling skills
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Organised, reliable, proactive and able to work independently and in a team
