Casual Hospital Medical Officer - Werribee

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne is recruiting a Casual Hospital Medical Officer (HMO) for its Werribee campus. You will support the clinical management of patients under the care and direction of Accredited Medical Practitioners and Senior Nursing Staff, delivering timely, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Attend MET calls and Code Blue reviews
• Review unwell or newly admitted patients
• Perform procedures such as IVC and IDCs
• Review patient results (pathology, radiology)
• Chart medications
• Take part in clinical handover processes

Required profile

• General registration with AHPRA
• At least two years' experience in an acute Australian hospital (PGY3+)
• Experience managing deteriorating patients
• Good communication skills and clinical care consistent with medical best practice
• Criminal record and child protection checks are part of the selection criteria

Desirable skills

• Sole doctor experience in a private hospital
• ED, ICU or critical care experience
• Medical specialist training programme participation
• Registrar-level or equivalent experience
• Medical lead experience in Code Blue / MET calls
