Casual Enrolled Nurse - Medical and Surgical Acute Care

About the role

Maitland Hospital is seeking a Casual Enrolled Nurse to join its Medical and Surgical Acute Care team. You will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing safe, high-quality, person-centred care to patients with a range of medical and surgical needs, in a busy acute care environment. The position is casual, with up to 38 hours per week, and applications are reviewed on a weekly basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care within the medical and surgical acute care setting, in line with your scope of practice.
• Work with Registered Nurses, patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team to support identified care goals and outcomes.
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the Registered Nurse promptly.
• Contribute to the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of patients.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate clearly with colleagues to support continuity of care.
• Support a positive team environment focused on patient safety, quality care and best practice.

Required profile

• Experienced Enrolled Nurse with a background in medical and surgical acute care nursing.
• Ability to prioritise competing patient care needs, recognise changes in patients' conditions and work within your scope of practice.
• Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Experience in a medical and surgical acute care setting.
