Casual Dental Assistant

About the role

1300SMILES Burnett Dental Centre, an established practice offering general and restorative dentistry, is looking for a casual Dental Assistant. You will work about 20-30+ hours per week depending on practice needs, with shifts varying according to practice needs and leave coverage. Full-day availability Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, with flexibility across those days is required. On-the-job training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance to dentists across a range of procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment
• Welcome patients and help them feel comfortable during appointments
• Clean and sterilise instruments in line with infection control requirements
• Maintain clean, organised and well-prepared clinical areas
• Support the smooth running of daily clinical operations and work with the wider team to deliver a positive patient experience

Required profile

• Dependable, friendly and approachable, with confidence communicating with patients
• Genuine interest in dentistry and willingness to learn
• Good organisation skills and attention to detail
• Reliability and flexibility with availability
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Previous dental assisting experience or a Certificate III or above in Dental Assisting is ideal but not essential
