Casual Dental Assistant

About the role

1300SMILES Upper Ross, a family-friendly general and restorative dentistry practice in Rasmussen, is looking for a casual Dental Assistant. No dental experience is needed because full on-the-job training is provided by a friendly, supportive team. The role sits alongside the dentists, Practice Manager and front office team.

Key responsibilities

• Start with sterilisation, room set-up and patient care, then progress to chairside assisting as confidence grows
• Provide chairside support for general and restorative procedures
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms between appointments
• Sterilise instruments and care for dental equipment
• Help patients feel comfortable and well looked after
• Pitch in with reception and admin tasks when things get busy

Required profile

• Generally available Monday to Saturday, as shifts are offered across opening hours
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
• Clear and professional communication with patients and the team
• A genuine interest in starting a career in dentistry
• A reliable, positive approach and willingness to learn
