Casual Chef and Cook - Treasure Island Resort

About the role

Treasure Island Holiday Resort, part of NRMA Parks & Resorts on the Gold Coast, is hiring several casual chefs and cooks for the busy holiday season. The resort bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a contemporary à la carte menu, and the kitchen closes at 8pm each night.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present menu items to a high standard across breakfast, lunch and dinner service
• Keep food prepared and plated consistently according to recipes, presentation standards and service expectations
• Assist with daily food preparation and service in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
• Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures at all times
• Help with stock rotation, storage and minimising food waste
• Work with the kitchen team during busy periods and support seasonal menus and daily specials

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in a busy commercial kitchen, café, restaurant, bistro or hospitality venue
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
• Passion for food, quality and presentation, with excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Required skills

• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications
• Confidence working across multiple sections during service
