Campus Chef

About the role

A childcare service in Coogee, Western Australia, is looking for a Campus Chef to cook meals for children on site. The position is full time or part time, and the service has been rated as meeting NQS in all areas.

Key responsibilities

• Plan nutritious, age-appropriate menus with variety, balance, cultural inclusivity and dietary guidelines
• Cook and serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
• Follow individual allergy and anaphylaxis management plans
• Comply with local council health regulations
• Manage the kitchen budget, order supplies and maintain stock
• Engage with children about healthy eating
• Share menus with families, discuss dietary needs and work with educators on celebrations and cultural events

Required profile

• Previous experience managing a kitchen autonomously
• Experience in childcare, aged care or an on-site kitchen is desirable
• Current Working with Children's Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional references in hospitality or childcare
• Willingness to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and I'm Alert Food Safety training

Required skills

• Sound understanding of food safety, dietary or religious requirements and allergy awareness
• Effective communication skills
