Camp Coordinator

About the role

The CRU Educational Camps team is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Camp Coordinator to lead and work alongside camp leaders in using school camps to reach thousands of children with the gospel. The role is primarily about planning and directing camp programs and training and mentoring Summit trainees. It suits someone with strong leadership skills who is people-oriented and passionate about reaching children with the good news of Jesus.

Key responsibilities

• Pre-camp planning and post-camp follow-up
• Lead a team of staff in running the camp
• Give Christian Discovery talks
• Work closely with teachers to run camps that meet the schools' aims and encourage them to return
• Train and mentor Summit trainees

Required profile

• Mature and consistent Christian faith with active involvement in a Christian church and sound biblical teaching
• Full agreement with CRU's Statement of Belief
• Belief in the value of camping for evangelism and for developing a team of leaders
• Experience working with school-aged children, including running camps, church kids and/or youth ministries, games, sports or outdoor activities
• Current driver's licence
• NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)

Required skills

• Ability to prepare and present Christian talks and small group studies
• Strong Bible knowledge and understanding of its application to students' daily lives
• Ability to work independently and within a team, and to lead a team of up to 40 other leaders
