CAD Designer / Draftsperson – Full-time

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer / Draftsperson to join our national design team at Moreton Hire. The role involves producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings and models that support exhibition, event, and modular construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings for exhibition stands, temporary structures, and modular builds
• Prepare detailed design documentation for client approvals and internal build teams
• Interpret briefs and develop practical, cost‑effective design solutions
• Ensure designs align with Moreton Hire systems, stock, and build capabilities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet project deadlines and delivery requirements
• Assist with design amendments, troubleshooting, and urgent project requests
• Maintain high standards in render quality, accuracy, and design integrity
• Contribute to improvement in design processes and efficiency

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CAD Designer, Draftsperson, or similar role
• Ability to balance creativity with practicality and understand design and buildability
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Proactive attitude focused on efficiency and continuous improvement

Required skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit
• 2D and 3D CAD drawing production
• Knowledge of technical drawing standards
• Understanding of materials and build methods
• Familiarity with Australian compliance requirements (desirable)
