CAD Design Engineer – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Bendigo/Melbourne)

About the role

Thales is seeking a motivated CAD Design Engineer to join its VTS PRV team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will be based at either the Bendigo or Melbourne office and will focus on designing, developing and validating components for medium and heavy defence land vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate vehicle components and systems using Creo Parametric.
• Produce detailed 3D models and drawings that meet stakeholder requirements and regulatory standards.
• Support prototyping, testing and validation activities.
• Perform tolerance analysis and collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and design optimisation.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using Creo Parametric for 3D CAD design.
• Strong knowledge of design principles and practices for medium/heavy vehicles.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Creo Parametric 3D CAD software.
• Basic familiarity with PLM systems.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Tolerance analysis.
