Business Trainee - Human Resources

About the role

Westvic Staffing Solutions is recruiting a motivated person to join as a Business Trainee, supporting the HR team. You will complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Business while earning while you learn, with on-the-job training and ongoing support. The role starts in January 2027, works 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday, and supports the People & Capability function across the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment, onboarding and employee administration processes
• Assist with employee learning, development and engagement initiatives
• Provide administrative and coordination support for HR programs and projects
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
• Assist with workforce reporting and people analytics
• Help implement HR policies, procedures and compliance requirements
• Contribute to diversity, wellbeing and employee experience initiatives
• Build relationships with employees, leaders and stakeholders
• Take part in continuous improvement and structured learning and development activities

Required profile

• Reliable, organised and willing to learn
• Good communication skills and enjoys working with people and in a team
• Interest in business, HR and the water industry
• Positive attitude, good attention to detail, and willingness to undertake training
• Previous office experience is not required

• Aptitude for learning and ability to meet deadlines
• Able to work accurately and neatly
• Aptitude for working with computers and other IT systems
