Business Development & Technical Sales

About the role

Tank Vision, based in Sydney and delivering projects across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, is looking for a person with proven business development skills to work with the General Manager and Managing Director. The role owns the growth of the data centre and water infrastructure pipelines, identifying major opportunities early and engaging with stakeholders such as hydraulic, fire and mechanical service consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business growth in the data centre industry and large-scale water infrastructure sectors (new business and key accounts)
• Analyse the market, track the pipeline and forecast to inform sales strategy and corporate targets
• Build relationships with builders, asset owners, Tier-1 consultants, subcontractors, developers and supply chain partners
• Work with engineers and design teams to shape custom solutions, and partner with the estimating department on proposals and project-ready scopes
• Assess project scope so solutions are practical, compliant and fit for purpose
• Manage opportunities from lead to close, including client meetings, site visits and project handover coordination
• Maintain CRM activity and reporting for pipeline visibility

Required profile

• Proven business development or technical sales experience in construction, building services, water infrastructure, mechanical, HVAC, industrial or related sectors
• Understanding of how major construction and infrastructure projects are specified, estimated and delivered
• Technically capable and mechanically minded, comfortable interpreting project scope, engineering drawings and technical specs with support
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and commercial confidence in negotiation and opportunity qualification
• Organised, proactive and able to work autonomously

Nice to have

• Exposure to data centres or municipal water/utility assets
• Experience with consultants, specifiers, major water authorities and formal tendering
• Ability to read hydraulic or structural drawings
