Business Development Manager

About the role

The Melbourne Football Club is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to join its Sales Department. In this newly created, full‑time permanent role you will drive commercial revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, crafting strategic sponsorship and digital partnership solutions, and securing deals that align with the Club’s brand values and fan engagement goals.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect, network and generate leads to drive new sponsorship and partnership revenue.
• Develop and present tailored commercial proposals that match client objectives and the Club’s strategic priorities.
• Sell integrated sponsorship packages across assets such as match‑day signage, hospitality, events, digital platforms and content.
• Manage the end‑to‑end sales cycle, including pitching, negotiation, contracting and partner onboarding.
• Collaborate with marketing, content and other departments to create innovative partnership solutions.
• Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasting and CRM reporting to support revenue targets.
• Represent the Club at corporate functions, networking events, match days and industry engagements.
• Stay informed on AFL industry trends, sponsorship innovation, fan engagement strategies and digital media developments.

Required profile

• Commercially driven sales professional with at least five years’ experience in advertising, media, sports or entertainment.
• Proven track record of securing new business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
