Business Development Manager

About the role
The Business Development Manager will drive growth of Alibaba Cloud services within the assigned market by building strong customer relationships, uncovering business needs, and converting them into qualified sales opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse target industries, identify potential customers and map decision‑making chains to uncover real needs.
- Engage customers using their business language, build trust with C‑level executives, and drive upsell and cross‑sell initiatives.
- Communicate the technical value of Alibaba Cloud’s core offerings—including Apsara Cloud Operating System, the 7 Core Products and AI/Intelligent Computing solutions—and differentiate them from competitors.
- Deliver presentations and tailored solution briefings, either independently or with Solutions Architects.
- Accelerate customer decision‑making, negotiate commercial terms and pricing proposals, and close deals to meet performance targets.
- Coordinate cross‑functional resources to support the full customer lifecycle and resolve product usage issues.
Required profile
- Proven ability to analyse markets, identify key accounts and navigate complex decision‑making structures.
- Experience engaging C‑level or senior executives and building long‑term strategic partnerships.
- Strong business acumen with a focus on cloud services, upselling and cross‑selling.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to drive opportunity conversion.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Alibaba Cloud platform and services.
- Familiarity with Apsara Cloud Operating System.
- Understanding of AI and Intelligent Computing solutions.
