Business Development Manager – Hotel Sales

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead sales and account management for Mercure Melbourne Doncaster across corporate, MICE, wholesale, inbound and leisure segments. You will drive revenue growth, promote Accor brands and ensure the hotel meets its market share objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing key accounts.
• Promote Accor brands, products and services to maximise revenue.
• Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, networking events and trade shows.
• Negotiate contracts, rates and terms in line with revenue and profitability goals.
• Build strong relationships with travel agents, corporate clients, PCOs and industry partners.
• Collaborate with Revenue, Marketing and Operations teams to achieve hotel objectives.
• Maintain accurate client records, account plans, forecasts and sales reports.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to uncover opportunities.
• Represent the hotel and Accor professionally, adhering to company policies and brand standards.

Required profile

• Qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Sales, Marketing or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel sales, business development or account management.
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
• Valid Australian driver’s licence.
• Unrestricted Australian work rights.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with hotel sales or PMS systems.
