Business Development Executive – Hotel Sales

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Executive to join the Sales & Marketing team at Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will focus on acquiring new business and nurturing a select portfolio of existing accounts, positioning the hotel as a market leader across key segments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and convert new business opportunities across assigned market segments.
• Develop and execute a targeted new‑business strategy aligned with personal and hotel revenue goals.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of active accounts, achieving monthly revenue and acquisition targets.
• Conduct client appointments, site inspections and showcase hotel facilities, including the award‑winning Le Petit Chef experience.
• Attend trade shows, industry events and corporate functions to generate leads.
• Prepare, quote and follow up on proposals to maximise conversion.
• Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team and Hyatt National Sales colleagues to drive results.
• Maintain accurate account records in Envision and Trace systems.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and business intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales or business development, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of meeting revenue targets.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
