Bus Driver – FIFO Site Transport

About the role

The successful candidate will provide safe, reliable transport for site personnel and equipment on a FIFO roster. Working on‑site, you will support daily operations, emergency evacuations and ad‑hoc logistics tasks while adhering to strict safety and fatigue‑management protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff and cargo between designated locations, ensuring punctuality and safety.
• Assist passengers with boarding, luggage and special requirements.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, passenger counts and fuel records.
• Conduct daily pre‑start safety checks and routine vehicle maintenance.
• Coordinate with site logistics teams for short‑haul requests and equipment deliveries.
• Use two‑way radios or mobile apps to receive route updates and site alerts.
• Support emergency response, including evacuation transport.
• Report hazards, incidents and vehicle expenses promptly.

Required profile

• Valid, unrestricted Light Rigid (LR) or higher class driver’s licence.
• Current Driver Accreditation or Passenger Transport Driver Authorization (desirable).
• First Aid Certificate (desirable).
• Completion of site‑specific induction and fatigue‑management training.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in mining or remote operations.
• Ability to work independently on a FIFO schedule.

Required skills

• Vehicle operation with Light Rigid licence.
• Driver accreditation and passenger transport authorisation.
• First Aid certification.
• Vehicle pre‑start safety inspections.
• Route planning and fuel‑efficiency optimisation.
• Two‑way radio and mobile app communication.
