Branch Manager - Food Distribution

About the role

Chandler Macleod is recruiting an experienced Branch Manager for a well-established regional business serving the food manufacturing, fresh produce and food distribution sectors, based in Bendigo, Victoria. The role suits an operations leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and focuses on inventory control, quality standards, compliance and customer service. It reports to senior leadership and works closely with a Sales Manager and a team of six Sales Representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the branch and deliver operational and financial performance targets
• Manage inventory, warehousing, distribution and supply chain activities
• Maintain food safety, quality, compliance and operational standards
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
• Lead, coach and develop frontline operational teams
• Manage branch budgets, KPIs and operational reporting
• Ensure exceptional customer service and build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Identify ways to improve efficiency, productivity and service outcomes

Required profile

• Experience leading teams in food manufacturing, food processing, fresh produce, FMCG, distribution, warehousing or logistics
• Understanding of food safety, quality assurance, compliance and operational standards
• Ability to manage inventory, stock control and supply chain processes
• Financial and commercial acumen, including KPI management and budget accountability
• Hands-on leadership style, with availability for site emergencies and occasional early starts or after-hours calls
• Located within about 45 minutes of Bendigo and seeking a long-term regional leadership role
