Branch Manager - Defence Bank, Darwin

About the role

Defence Bank, a member-owned bank serving the Australian Defence community, is looking for a Branch Manager in Darwin. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role leads the branch team to deliver outstanding service, meet performance targets and comply with regulations. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Darwin team in person, ensuring operational efficiency, service excellence, team cohesion and engagement
• Foster a positive team culture through regular virtual engagement and periodic visits, and build an effective working relationship with a remote leader
• Promote Defence Bank within Defence, Defence industry partners and the wider community to grow the member base and product portfolios
• Build a member service and sales culture and advocate for the bank within the Defence community
• Manage branch operations so they remain compliant with legislation and bank policy, which may include reviewing and approving lending applications within your delegation

Required profile

• At least three years' experience leading a retail sales team, ideally in financial services
• Vocational qualification in financial services, sales or team leadership
• Experience building stakeholder relationships, coaching team members, developing local sales and business development plans, and facilitating presentations to small and large groups
• Able to pick up new concepts quickly, manage time and handle unplanned interruptions
• Australian working rights; employment checks are required before an offer
