Biomedical Technologist – Grade 3

About the role

The Biomedical Technologist supports safe and effective healthcare by managing and maintaining biomedical and electronic equipment across Grampians Health campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment, including acceptance testing and documentation.
• Maintain communication systems such as electronic paging, telephone and overhead paging systems.
• Manage work orders, service records, spare parts and manuals in the Programmed Maintenance System.
• Assist with stock levels of components, spares and loan equipment to minimise downtime.
• Participate in weekend work, after‑hours call‑outs and provide in‑service training to staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electronics, trade qualifications or equivalent experience maintaining electronic/electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian safety standards AS3760, AS2500, AS3003 and AS3551.
• Excellent attention to detail, customer service orientation and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to handle time‑critical situations and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Electronics systems maintenance and calibration.
• Familiarity with AS3760, AS2500, AS3003, AS3551 standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Understanding of IT systems related to biomedical equipment.
