Backend Software Engineer (Node.js & AWS)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing FinTech building digital lending products and are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain the services that power our platform. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers and technical leadership, gaining exposure to modern AWS cloud environments while delivering clean, scalable code.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Develop and enhance APIs and integrations across the lending platform.
• Write efficient SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Utilise AWS services such as Lambda, ECS and other cloud‑native technologies.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performance.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong background in TypeScript and Node.js development.
• Proven ability to write complex SQL queries and analyse data.
• Experience building and maintaining production APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services in a production setting.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
