Backend Engineer - Wallets

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in wallet infrastructure to help shape the future of decentralized finance. You will build secure, high‑performance backend services that power global digital‑asset solutions and work with international teams in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services for secure and scalable wallet infrastructure.
• Build and optimise high‑performance microservices handling real‑time transactions at scale.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver backend solutions aligned with product and business goals.
• Implement best‑practice security measures to protect user assets and system integrity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues while identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging blockchain, peer‑to‑peer and backend technologies.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience building high‑availability, complex backend platforms.
• Familiarity with peer‑to‑peer and decentralized system concepts.
• Proficiency with relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Strong grasp of backend security principles and secure coding practices.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, especially within remote, international teams.
