AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our Sydney team. You will design, build and operate robust CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable delivery of cloud‑native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
• Deploy containerised applications on Kubernetes/EKS clusters with Helm charts and Kustomize.
• Implement blue‑green, canary and rolling release strategies to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate release schedules, conduct deployment reviews and follow change‑management processes.
• Provide 24/7 production support, incident response and root‑cause analysis for critical AWS workloads.
• Monitor system health with New Relic APM, CloudWatch and custom dashboards; create alerts and automated remediation.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimisation and resource right‑sizing.
• Configure and maintain New Relic monitoring, dashboards, synthetic tests and integrate with incident tools.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS, including pod scheduling, service mesh, persistent storage and autoscaling.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation.
• Extensive experience building CI/CD pipelines and implementing release strategies.
• Expertise in New Relic monitoring (APM, infrastructure, logs, synthetic).
