AWS DevOps Engineer – CI/CD & Cloud Operations

About the role
We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for our critical applications. The role combines hands‑on development, automation and 24/7 production support across our Sydney and Brisbane environments.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
- Implement blue‑green deployments, canary releases and rolling updates to minimise downtime.
- Deploy and manage containerised applications on Kubernetes/EKS clusters with Helm charts and Kustomize.
- Coordinate release schedules, conduct deployment reviews and follow change‑management processes.
- Provide 24/7 production support, incident response and root‑cause analysis for AWS infrastructure.
- Monitor system health and performance with New Relic APM, CloudWatch and custom dashboards.
- Configure New Relic monitoring, create alerts, dashboards and integrate with incident‑management tools.
- Perform capacity planning, cost optimisation and resource right‑sizing.
Required profile
- Deep expertise in core AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Helm, Kustomize and cluster autoscaling.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
- Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
- Extensive knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
- Hands‑on experience configuring New Relic APM, infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
- Solid understanding of version control (Git), security best practices and networking fundamentals.
