Avionics Technician

About the role

GE Aerospace Australia operates sites in Brisbane, Newcastle, Richmond, Bundamba and Matraville, supporting avionics, propeller and power systems for civilian and military aircraft since 2005. The Brisbane Avionics Technician works with highly skilled technicians on cutting-edge technology, keeping the avionics, battery and electromechanical workshops running successfully.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bench repairs down to component level of electronic and/or electromechanical equipment to the highest quality standards, completing work efficiently and economically.
• Collaborate with other technicians, the Operations Manager, stores, customer service and other GE Aviation personnel to maximise customer satisfaction.
• Deliver excellent repair and test services, open communication and continuous improvement, while maintaining product safety and regulatory compliance.
• Keep equipment, tooling and physical resources operating effectively and follow company procedures, the Quality Manual and site quality, safety, EHS and compliance policies.
• Bring forward any identified risks using the provided systems and carry out other duties as required.

Required profile

• Certificate IV Aeroskills (Avionics) or equivalent.
• Experience in component-level repairs of electronic and electromechanical aeronautical products, including soldering, testing, replacing and fault-finding.
• Competence in electronic and/or electromechanical maintenance and aircraft equipment, with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Track record of compliance with EHS and regulator requirements, and success in a team environment.
• Preferred: exposure to an aeronautical workshop, continuous improvement experience and commitment to ongoing learning.
