Associate Quantity Surveyor - Cost Management

About the role

Slattery is looking for an associate-level professional with strong technical capability in Quantity Surveying and Cost / Commercial Management, along with sound commercial judgement and client management skills, to join its Tasmanian team. The role leads the delivery of projects of varying size and complexity, based in Hobart or Launceston. It suits someone who wants to give sound cost and commercial advice on existing projects while building trusted client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Apply expertise across cost planning, commercial management, procurement and contract administration to deliver high-quality outcomes that exceed client expectations.
• Provide practical, commercially focused cost and commercial advice to clients and project teams.
• Identify opportunities to add value for clients and strengthen long-term relationships.
• Lead across project teams, mentoring and developing others and sharing technical expertise.
• Contribute to the growth and capability of the broader Cost Management, Project Controls and Carbon Planning teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost / Commercial Management.
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, contract administration, procurement and commercial management.
• Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and take ownership of project delivery.
• Comfortable working in distributed teams across national offices and in mentoring others.
• Existing leadership skills or aptitude for leadership.
