Associate Professor / Professor – Psychology (Full‑time)

About the role

The School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences at CQUniversity seeks an academic leader to drive excellence across its postgraduate psychology programmes, including the Master of Clinical Psychology and Master of Professional Psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead curriculum design, accreditation compliance and teaching excellence for postgraduate psychology programmes.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration in clinical training and supervise honours and postgraduate research students.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, national and international partnerships, and multidisciplinary team leadership (at Professor level).

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) in psychology and general registration with Ahpra as a Psychologist.
• Strong (Level D) or distinguished (Level E) record of teaching excellence, with experience in online and blended pedagogy.
• Growing (Level D) or established (Level E) research profile with high‑quality publications, competitive funding and supervision experience.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues, engage with professional and community stakeholders, and (at Level E) lead multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Curriculum development and accreditation processes (APAC standards).
• Leadership in innovative online and blended teaching methods.
• Research translation and supervision of postgraduate students.

• Competitive total remuneration: $196,588–$214,609 (Associate Professor) or $247,655 (Professor) per annum, including superannuation and leave loading.
