Associate Professor – Law (Full‑time)

About the role

Western Sydney University’s School of Law is seeking an Associate Professor to lead impactful legal education and research. This full‑time, ongoing position is based at the Parramatta South campus and offers flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes.
• Lead curriculum development and innovation, ensuring academic excellence.
• Maintain an established research profile in areas such as commercial law, human rights, international law, inter‑Asia legalities, and social justice.
• Secure competitive research funding, supervise higher degree research candidates, and foster research collaborations.
• Mentor junior academics, contribute to school governance, and build relationships with the legal profession, industry, government, and community organisations.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant area of law.
• Demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement.
• Established research record with high‑quality publications and evidence of scholarly impact.
• Experience supervising Higher Degree Research candidates.
