About the role
The School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast seeks an Associate Professor in Urgent Care to lead academic activities across the Graduate Certificate in Urgent Care and emerging micro‑credential offerings. Reporting to the Discipline Lead, Paramedicine, the role involves curriculum innovation, research leadership and mentorship of academic staff.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, delivery and continuous improvement of postgraduate urgent care programmes, ensuring they are practice‑ready and evidence‑based.
- Develop and drive a visible research agenda, secure funding and produce outcomes that influence urgent care practice and policy.
- Mentor and develop academic staff, strengthening teaching excellence and research capability across the discipline.
- Build strategic partnerships with healthcare, industry and community sectors and contribute to academic governance.
Required profile
- Established academic leader with national standing in urgent care or related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum innovation and student success outcomes.
- Experience mentoring academic staff and building research and teaching capability.
- Evidence of meaningful contribution to the discipline at a national level.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships across healthcare and industry.
- Extensive experience in academic governance and university‑level administration.
- Commitment to inclusive, culturally safe and student‑centred education.
