Associate – Fund Tax

About the role

The Tax Associate supports the Associate Tax Manager in delivering day‑to‑day tax compliance services for alternative investment fund clients across Australia. This newly created position is ideal for a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a client‑focused mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax calculations, returns, AIIRs, investor tax statements and Business Activity Statements (BAS) to meet client and regulatory deadlines.
• Assist with client onboarding, transitions and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance tax policies, procedures and controls for effective risk management.
• Respond promptly to client queries and support projects, system enhancements and testing of tax templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with 2–3 years relevant experience.
• Working towards or holding CA, CPA, CTA or Master of Taxation qualification.
• Knowledge of Australian fund taxation, GST, trusts (MITs, AMITs) and alternative investment structures.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of Australian tax legislation and GST requirements.
• Familiarity with fund accounting, financial reporting and compliance processes.
