Associate Director – Structural Engineer (NSQEP)

About the role

As an Associate Director – Structural Engineer (NSQEP) you will lead technical delivery on complex, safety‑critical structures for defence, research and nuclear projects. Based in Adelaide, you will mentor engineers, support clients and ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead structural and seismic design of complex buildings and facilities in defence, research and nuclear sectors.
• Provide NSQEP technical oversight, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and safety requirements.
• Deliver advanced structural and seismic analyses, including dynamic assessment and resilience studies.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with clients, stakeholders and specialists.
• Support nuclear safety cases, regulatory submissions and technical justifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; postgraduate qualifications in seismic or nuclear engineering are advantageous.
• 15+ years of structural engineering experience, including seismic and safety‑critical projects.
• Experience as a Nuclear Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (NSQEP) or in highly regulated nuclear environments.
• Chartered Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer status.
• Ability to obtain defence clearance (AUKUS).

Required skills

• Advanced structural analysis and engineering software (FEA packages, ETABS, SpaceGass, RAPT).
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international seismic, nuclear and structural design standards.
