Associate Director / Senior Project Manager – Program Performance

About the role

As an Associate Director / Senior Project Manager within Aurecon’s Darwin Program Performance Advisory team, you will lead major Defence, local government and infrastructure programmes across the Northern Territory. Based in Darwin, you will manage project teams, client relationships and deliver complex capital works exceeding $100 million in CAPEX.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from inception through design, procurement, construction and close‑out, ensuring delivery against scope, cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, provide strategic advice on governance, procurement and risk, and support business development and bid activities.
• Drive commercial performance through budgeting, forecasting, resource planning and contract administration, including negotiations, variations and claims.
• Identify, assess and manage project, commercial and organisational risks, implementing robust governance and assurance processes.
• Mentor and develop project managers, graduates and emerging leaders, fostering a collaborative high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture or related discipline.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain an AGSVA security clearance.
• Proven experience delivering major Defence, government or infrastructure projects and capital works programmes exceeding $100 million CAPEX.
• Strong commercial, contract administration and risk‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills.
