Associate Director – Complex Projects

About the role

An international architectural practice based in Sydney’s CBD is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead complex, large‑scale projects valued at $400 million plus. You will mentor a team of senior Associates and drive technical and strategic direction from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor experienced Associates across major, technically complex projects.
• Provide technical and strategic direction, resolve high‑level project challenges and support critical decisions.
• Manage project performance, resources and delivery while building strong client relationships.
• Support business development activities and represent the practice at industry events.
• Collaborate with Directors and senior leaders to shape successful project outcomes.

Required profile

• 12+ years of architectural experience, including senior leadership roles such as Associate Director or Senior Associate.
• Proven track record delivering major projects valued at $400 million or more.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and commercial awareness.
• Experience mentoring senior team members and building client relationships.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
