Associate Director – Banking & Financial Services Internal Audit Lead

About the role

The Internal Audit team at Macquarie seeks an Associate Director to lead audit coverage across Banking and Financial Services as well as People and Engagement. You will provide independent assurance on key risks, regulatory compliance and strategic priorities while shaping audit strategy and leveraging technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the audit plan for the Banking, Financial Services and People & Engagement portfolio.
• Provide independent assurance on regulatory compliance, risk management, governance and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance audit quality, innovation and technology use.

Required profile

• 15 years of experience in internal audit or a mix of internal and external audit within banking, wealth management or financial services.
• Strong understanding of risk management, governance and regulatory requirements in the financial sector.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience using data analytics to generate audit insights.
• Experience applying artificial intelligence techniques to improve audit outcomes.
