Associate – Corporate Finance and M&A

About the role

The Associate will support senior advisers on end‑to‑end M&A transactions, from sourcing to deal completion, within the Corporate Finance team in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of M&A transactions, including deal identification, financial analysis, modelling, and preparation of investment memoranda.
• Conduct primary and secondary research, financial benchmarking, and comparative analyses to support transaction recommendations.
• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction) and analyse target company financials, drivers, and risks.
• Support client meetings, presentations, and act as a reliable point of contact for stakeholder queries.

Required profile

• 2+ years of Corporate Finance or M&A experience, preferably from a large accounting firm or boutique.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related discipline.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work with large data sets and identify key drivers.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel financial modelling, including three‑statement models and valuation analyses.
• Proficiency in building DCF, comparable company and precedent transaction models.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Strong Word and PowerPoint capabilities for preparing analysis and presentations.
