Associate Cable Engineer

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an Associate Cable Engineer to join its Energy & Power team in Australia, supporting the planning, design and delivery of high‑voltage cable systems across Australia and the broader Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable projects (underground and/or submarine) across all project phases.
• Develop design criteria, technical outputs and documentation, and assist with technical reviews, quality assurance and compliance with standards (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, environmental, SCADA) and attend client meetings to coordinate with contractors, OEMs and stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, bids and reports, supporting project delivery and business growth.

Required profile

• Recognised EHV cable expert with consulting experience.
• Experience in EHV cable transmission networks and understanding of relevant standards (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE).
• Ability to develop business cases and reports, communicate effectively and solve problems.
• Willingness to work toward professional accreditation (e.g., CPEng) and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team.
